Important Announcement: Journal status update, Garuda indexation, and the separation of OJS systems.
Dear Authors, Reviewers, and Loyal Readers of IKESMA Journal,
First of all, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for your patience and support. After experiencing access issues (website downtime) for over a year, we are relieved to announce that IKESMA Journal is now back online. Through this announcement, we want to provide a transparent explanation regarding the journal's condition, the obstacles we faced, and the recovery steps we are currently implementing:
Cyberattacks and Server Issues
Over the past year, our server suffered from massive and persistent cyberattacks (including online gambling spam/malware). This caused severe system damage, rendering the journal inaccessible.
Apology Regarding Garuda Indexing
During the initial months of the attacks, our system experienced instability (going online and offline intermittently). Under those circumstances, the Editorial Team proceeded to publish articles according to the scheduled publication months.
However, this created a new issue: out of the last 3 published issues, only a portion of the articles were successfully indexed in Portal Garuda.
We deeply understand our Authors' disappointment. We are fully aware that publication records in IKESMA (which is Sinta 3 accredited) are highly crucial, especially as proof of performance and for lecturers' BKD (Beban Kerja Dosen) reporting. Therefore, we sincerely apologize for this highly disruptive inconvenience.
Article Data Recovery Efforts
We are taking action. Currently, our IT and Editorial teams are manually logging and recovering the unindexed articles based on the backup data we managed to save.
We kindly ask for your patience while this process is underway. If you have any urgent inquiries regarding the status of your article in those specific issues, please contact us via email at: ikesma@unej.ac.id.
System Adjustments: Old OJS vs. New OJS
The damage to our previous server forced us to restructure our entire system. Currently, to maintain security and ensure smooth publication, we have implemented two OJS systems as follows:
OLD OJS: Contains the archives of all articles submitted until the system went offline. This Old OJS is specifically designated to host all publications up to the year 2025.
NEW OJS: A completely new system with enhanced security levels. This New OJS is strictly designated ONLY for publications from 2026 onwards.
We are committed to continuously improving and restoring IKESMA Journal's services to its highest standards. Thank you for your continued understanding and trust in us.
Sincerely,
The Editorial Team of IKESMA Journal
